Description

Name of the Weapon: Multi Purpose Assault Rifle, MK IX

Manufacturer: Central Intersteller Trade Corporation, Security Division

Caliber: 8x40mm MPAR

Action: DI Gas Operation

ROF: 800 RPM

Magazine: 45 round helical drum

The MPAR was designed and built by the CITC after the UN placed a weapons embargo on them due to various Crimes against Sentient Life. Because they expanded their miltary drastically in preparation for a confrontation with UN forces, the MPAR was designed to be cheap and idiot-proof. It saw action during the New Hope War and the 8 Years War, where it came to be infamous for poor reliablity and power

:iconkanine1134: won the "The Fine Lines award" in the Carbine/DMR Contest for:iconfictional-firearms: . For his prize, Kanine1134 wanted me to draw the MPAR as if you had the Russians re-design an M-100s Calico with stamped metal parts and bullpup downward ejection and then had Colt manufacture it in desert tan. It's a stamped metal rifle with composite grips and stock loading from a top mounted helical drum with an extended carry handle with rails for mounting optics.

Entering gun nerd mode.

The Calico was designed to be a slim, ambidextrous carbine chambered for the .22 LR and the 9mm parabellum. Yeah, that would technically make it an smg, but 'technically' is my least favorite word in the english language.

The magazine was designed for extremely high capacity, coming in 50 and 100. The innards of the magazine is just a corkscrew spiral that actually winds up feeding pretty well.

Now you probably already new all of that, but this kind of stuff makes me excited...

I guess what I'm trying to say is that I know this isn't your design, and I know that this isn't particularly original, but I like the edits you've made to the original design, and just the whole thing worked out well.

In summary...

Good, but not your best.
